For the past 10 years, the motto of swimsuits have been that skin is in. Since 2015, swimsuits with more coverage have been making a comeback and everyone from celebrities to the ordinary folk have been jumping on the bandwagon of the high waisted bikini. Celebrities such as Taylor Swift and Beyonce (who seems to have the high waisted bikini in every possible colour) have been introducing the retro style to the beaches and pools of the rich and famous. They have since taken off in popularity and they can be seen on women all over the world.
One reason for the popularity of this particular style of swimsuit is how great it looks on women of all sizes and shapes. Women with a bit of a pooch or muffin top need not feel quite so self-concious about it since this style covers the mid-section quite well. Also, women who are trying to hide their stretch marks can do so with this style (which will be quite a relief to many mums!). Plus sized women have really taken this style and made it their own because of how well it works for those who are size 14+. It really makes every woman feel sexy no matter how small or big she may be and elongates the legs of shorter women. Popular blogger GabiFresh signed a licensing deal with Swimsuitsforall last year to create swimwear for women who are a US size 12 and bigger. The line includes a few high-waisted bikinis which are a staple for her.
